The super-strong Lucknow SuperGiants will perform in the 38th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 on April 28 at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.
The Lucknow SuperGiants are the third-highest team that has achieved around eight points in the competition. However, the fabulous performer of the Lucknow team, Mark Wood, would be unable to play in the final games of the IPL 2023. The reason behind this is that Mark Wood will be busy attending to the birth of his child next month.
Previously, Mark Wood had not played in the IPL due to illness. However, he has set the record of taking 11 wickets at an economy rate of 8.12. However, Mark Wood and his wife Sarah are expecting their second child at the end of May. And so on. Mark will leave soon just to give his presence for his childbirth, as per the report at ESPNCricinfo.
The qualifying match of the IPL is to be held on May 23 and 26. However, the finals would be considered to be held on May 28. And to qualify for the playoff, a higher performance from each of the participants is mandatory. Hence, LSG might get affected in the last stage in the absence of Mark Wood, but overall, the team is capable enough to get a place in the playoffs of the tournament.
