After a loss against the Rajasthan Royals, CSK skipper Dhoni has recalled his past match against Sri Lanka.

On April 27, the Chennai Super Kings lost their game by 32 runs against the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2023. However, the loss made Dhoni recall his past T20 cricket tournaments.

The match that MS Dhoni recalled was the 2nd ODI of the India-Sri Lanka series played on October 31, 2005, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, India. It was a high-scoring encounter in which India batted first and scored a mammoth total of 298 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 50 overs.

MS Dhoni played an incredible inning in that match, scoring an unbeaten 183 runs off just 145 deliveries, which included 15 fours and 10 sixes. He came in to bat at No. 3 and played a composed inning initially before shifting gears in the latter half of his inning.

Dhoni’s heroics with the bat earned him the Man of the Match award and also helped him establish himself as a key member of the Indian team in the years to come. However, he felt a little disappointed at not getting good results at the same location, as his side failed to win the IPL match on Thursday.

After losing in the challenging competition, CSK stayed in number third position with 10 points and Rajasthan Royals placed at the top of the table after winning the game on April 27. The next game of CSK will be held on April 30, against Punjab Kings in IPL 2023.
