The third-highest point achiever, the Lucknow SuperGiants, lost in the previous match of the Indian Premier League against the table-topper, the Gujarat Titans. However, the team loses due to the absence of Mark Wood in the 20-over match.

The over-energetic player, Mark Wood, couldn’t be found in an action against the Gujarat Titans, in which Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha contributed 95 runs and 81 runs, respectively, in the limited-overs match. The Lucknow side lost by 56 runs against the Gujarat Titans team last Saturday.

Mark Wood is known to be an aggressive player, and he has taken around 11 wickets in the Indian Premier League 2023. The reason was noted as Mark Wood flew to England to welcome the newborn daughter. Apart from him, the skipper, KL Rahul, was also not available in the team due to an injury. Hopefully, the LSG side couldn’t miss their chance to qualify for the playoffs of the competition.

The Lucknow team has sufficient points, but they must win the remaining games to gain more points in the ongoing competition. However, the competition is taking a new turn, and each team is in the mindset to create a new turning point for their victory in the ongoing cricket league. The Lucknow team will face the Sunrisers Hyderabad team in their next game of the IPL 2023 on May 13.
