India will partake in the five T20 matches against the West Indies, which start from Thursday onwards in the evening. The very first T20 match will be played on August 3 at Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba.
In the previously ended ODI series, India proceeded to do tremendous work by dominating two games against the West Indies. And they also won a fabulous victory over two test cricket tours in 2023. After losing the 2nd ODI match, India made several changes in their squad, including changing the batting positions of Sanju and Suryakumar Yadav.
While the two experienced cricketers rested from the captaincy role, they handed over such responsibility to the all-rounder, Hardik Pandya. In these five matches, India will attempt to give opportunities to ambitious players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma, and Mukesh Kumar, beginning with the opening at the Brian Lara Stadium.
It was their great performances in the Indian Premier League that earned Varma and Jaiswal their first call-up to India’s T20I team, and they will undoubtedly make the most of it. However, this could also open a new opportunity for all the young and talented cricketers to compete in the ODI World Cup 2023.
