In 2020, MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket, shocking the cricketing world

Published:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the devoted cricketer of India, has taken retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020. The entire cricket world went into shock, and most importantly, the Indian team has faced issues dominating the ICC trophies over long decades.

Dhoni made his debut for India in December 2004 and steadily cemented his name in the hearts of cricket fans with his decisive batting, flawless wicketkeeping, and captivating leadership characteristics. India lost in the absence of the devoted cricketer, as India did in the match against New Zealand in the past.

Dhoni’s supportive staff, including mentors and senior cricketers’ worst nightmares, became a reality when the former India skipper announced his retirement with an emotional video message on Instagram on August 15, 2020, which featured a slideshow of some classic photographs from his international career.

He took the classic ‘Main pal do pal ka shayar hoon’ song from the old film ‘Kabhie Kabhie’  to express his feelings and emotions in the video, which must have made even the toughest men cry. However, India is still waiting to overcome the wait by winning in the ICC events. Today is the day, and the whole nation is saluting the beloved cricketer for his contribution to cricket on the occasion of Independence Day.
