Karun Nair, an Indian cricketer, has officially declared himself the latest signing for Northamptonshire County Cricket Club. The 31-year-old player has replaced Sam Whiteman, who will be returning to Australia. However, that’s quite an amazing thing, as Karun Nair is going to play in the remaining three competitive matches for Northamptonshire.
The Jodhpur-born cricketer landed in the UK on Friday, September 8, and he will be in action against Warwickshire in Sunday’s match on September 10. He has had the brightest beginning in his career since 2016, when he made three exhausting centuries for India. But the disappointment was that Karun had not received a call to permit Men in Blue to compete in the international series.
However, his ability as a prominent cricketer is something that will remain unchanged. He made 5922 runs in 85 first-class matches. Nair will make sure to put in extra efforts with the expectation of giving an extraordinary performance for the Northamptonshire side.
I am grateful to have the opportunity to perform under Northamptonshire in the County Championship. We have heard many times about the county cricket, and it’s good to see Prithvi Shaw involved and enjoying every bit of the tournament. And I am also thinking the same and happy that I got an opportunity to perform on the international platform, says Karun Nair at India’s Cricket News Channel.
