Asia Cup 2023: India’s Load Management Plans Against Bangladesh; Mohammed Shami Could Play

Published:

Jasprit Bumrah has only bowled 12 overs so far, while Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya have contributed 19.2 and 18, respectively. The finalist in the competition, India, is also curious to test their players’ strength when they  face Bangladesh in a Super 4 clash.

The Rohit Sharma-led side will allow its first group to make many choices in the next competition. Otherwise, they can also allow fringe players in the upcoming cricket competition. The possibilities of raising their workload management are relevant, particularly in the case of bowlers.

Bumrah has bowled so far in the Asia Cup 2023 for just 12 overs, in the match against Pakistan for 5 overs, and also against Sri Lanka for around 7 overs. However, he didn’t play for Nepal. So it totally depends upon Bumrah to decide if he wants to go on batting in one more encounter or stand back and return for the summit battle on September 17.

The senior pacer will benefit from gaining some crucial real-match experience prior to the quadrennial big bash, which begins on October 5. Because Shami has been hired as a backup seamer for Bumrah, Siraj, and Pandya, this is significant.
