Temba Bavuma will not be available for the practice match of the ICC Cricket Competition. And it is decided that Aiden Markram will be leading the whole South African crew in his absence.

Ahead of the official tournament, the South African team will perform in the ICC Cricket World Cup warm-up matches in 2023. The two warm-up matches for SA will be against Afghanistan and New Zealand on September 29 and October 2nd.
However, it is clear that Temba will not perform in two warm-up games, but the return of Temba is still not confirmed. To cover up the situation, they have appointed Aiden Markram to lead their side in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
