India vs Pakistan: The first of seven World Cup victories that sparked a 30-year unbeaten streak

Published:

India was last dismissed by Pakistan in 1992 by 43 runs in the India vs. Pakistan World Cup matches. However, the host is looking forward to rebuilding more than 30 years of memory against Pakistan in the ODI World Cup 2023.

Between October 1978 and October 1991, India and Pakistan played 37 one-day internationals, including bilateral series and multi-national competitions. But they had not had that moment until they performed in the 1992 ODI series on March 4th, when the Asian neighbours performed against them in the World Cup at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Australia.

The World Championship of Cricket in Australia in 1985 witnessed India defeating Pakistan twice, including in the championship game, but Pakistan still held a commanding 24-11 lead in the series overall. They have already reached Australia in more than three months, as they went through the finals of the tri-series to defeat the host 0-2, and dominated 4-0 in five matches of the test series. Their hopes were certainly destroyed after suffering big defeats to England and Australia at the 2023 World Cup.

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is going to begin on October 5, and the most exciting performances by India and Pakistan will be on October 14.
