“Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma would like an Olympic medal,” says former cricketer Atul Wassan

Cricket primarily made its individual arrival at the 1900 Paris Olympics, in which England defeated France in the final. But now onwards, it is being played in Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.

The ex-Indian cricketer Atul Wassan spoke about how the t20 format presents the biggest opportunity for participants to compete against the strongest opponents of the cricketing nation in the Olympics and advised that players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma should get an Olympic medal in their trophy cabinets.

In the recently finished 19th Asian Games, India sent a relatively inexperienced team that won a gold medal. With the highlights of such participants as Afghanistan and the Netherlands in the T20 format, Wassan also thinks that with five years to go until the 2028 Olympics, the teams have much time to practice hard and develop their performances to compete in the T20 format.

There are still five years left to begin the 2028 Olympics, and I think that teams will greatly improve their games individually, which will give them good competition. And if India is looking to achieve a gold medal, then they must send their best playing XI in the competition, says Atul Wassan to ANI.
